Music Video Monday #20: Trigmatic, Mi Fri Ghana

Ghanaians are extremely patriotic, and they will be the first to tell you how wonderful Ghana is.  This is very evident when ever there is a World Cup going on and not only are people around the world noticing how well this little country plays soccer but how energetic and patriotic their fans are painted from head to toe in Red, Yellow and Green, adorned with the Black Star, the colors and symbols of Ghana and their independence.

Mi Fri Ghana means I am from Ghana, in Twi one of the prominent languages of the country.  This is what is being repeated throughout this song along with reference about what makes Ghana unique and great, like their first president Kwame Nkurmah who is on the artists T-Shirt.

That is one of the things that I admire about Ghanaians is that with all the diversity, divisions, economic hardships, and difficult governments, you can ask a Ghanaian from around the world where they are from they will say Ghana, and if you ask them if they miss it and hope to live at home one day, the answer is almost unanimously yes.  Ghanaians love Ghana, and there are many reasons you may find that you do too.  Enjoy the video.
