Camping Possibilities

At Mole there are a few possibilities for camping and you can select your choice. The following are the options:

  • Tree Hide camping site, which is 2.5km from the Mole information center and there is a high probability of observing some of the native wildlife, such as spotted hyena.
  • Brugbani campsite is 9km from headquarters and one can also camp there.
  • Lovi is also 29km from Park Headquarters and is a preferred place for camping (a lion was seen on May 22, 2009)
  • A public area campsite opposite Mole information center with ablution facilities and electricity.

For those who will like to experience more nature during their stay, we recommend:

A drive to Kanato, this is a new stretch developed recently in 2010 to Nyange which is about 80km and Ducie about 50kms. You are not likely to see much wildlife, but it is nice to enjoy the drive in the wilderness.

At Kparia and Polzen waterfalls there are newly identified falls. From the Park Headquarters to Polzen is about 100km and to Kparia is 120km. At Kparia Falls, one can swim; there is no swimming at Polzen. It is unlikely to see wildlife here, but you can visit Murugu spring water and also visit Murugu and Kparia communities which are fringe communities of the park.

Konkori cave; this was a hideout for people fleeing from the slave trade and is about 100km from the Park Headquarters.

All the new sites can be accessed during the dry season.
